Canteen Cook & Manager at Cegin Hedyn Community Canteen

Job Description:
A cook/manager to run a “Pay What You Can” canteen that offers the local community a warm, welcoming and supportive place to eat.
We will use surplus ingredients from local farms, growers, suppliers & surplus food charities to create a hot, homemade, nutritious lunch affordable to all.

Details:
- 12/16 Hours a week
- Begins November 2022
- £12 an hour
- Working Days Tuesdays
Must haves:
- A passion for a sustainable environment
- A year in a head chef/managers role
- Lead a team of volunteers
- Menu planning using surplus ingredients
- A willingness to document & share all your work to the project to share with it’s volunteers, customers and workforce.
- Basic computer literacy (emails & rota management)
- Good reading ability
- Passion for cooking plant based meals and ability to cook delicious food.

Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning Changing weekly/daily
- Rota Management
- Ordering
- Safety Management
- Cooking plant based food from scratch
- Key Holding
- HACCAP management
- Training, Co-Hiring & being responsible for kitchen volunteers.
- Regular meetings with Deri
- Cooking Christmas Dinner for the Community on Christmas Day.
- Working alongside project manager
- Organising Maintenance & Repairs of Equipment
- Budgeting and costings
- co-organising food events
