Celia Strange - cegin hedyn

We’re absolutely over the moon to share some fantastic news — Cegin Hedyn has won the Third Sector Organisation of the Year award at this year’s Carmarthenshire Business Awards

At a vibrant ceremony held at Parc y Scarlets, our project was recognised for the impact we’re making across Carmarthen and beyond — and we couldn’t be prouder. Our team, represented by Celia on the night, accepted the award with a huge smile and a full heart.

This award isn’t just a trophy on the shelf. It’s a powerful reminder that community-led, food-focused projects like ours matter. That providing access to healthy, seasonal, homemade food in a dignified and welcoming way is something worth celebrating.

Every meal we serve, every volunteer shift, every shared conversation around the table — it’s all part of the fabric that makes Cegin Hedyn what it is. A place where everyone is welcome, and where food is more than just sustenance — it’s solidarity.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes Cegin Hedyn possible — our incredible volunteers, local producers and suppliers, everyone who’s shared a meal with us, the funders and partners who believe in our mission, and of course, the thank you to the Carmarthenshire Business Awards team for shining a light on the third sector and the power of community.

We hope this recognition helps us raise even more awareness and support for the work we do — because our goal remains the same: making sure everyone has access to nutritious, affordable, locally sourced meals, no matter their circumstances.

Here’s to more good food, more community, and more change from the ground up.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Cegin Hedyn team
