
The sunshine has well and truly arrived, and it’s keeping us on our toes down at the allotment! With the warm weather comes lots of watering, topping up our water storage, and keeping on top of the weeding. We’ve been busy harvesting plenty of spinach, chard, and salad leaves — everything’s growing fast in this heat! We’ve also planted out some beautiful red cabbage for later in the season. Wildlife is keeping us company too — we found a lovely little frog this week and carefully relocated it to our pond, and we’ve even built a second pond inside the polytunnel to help keep things cool and lively in there.
Over in the kitchen, we’ve got a delicious seasonal menu lined up this week featuring purple sprouting broccoli from the brilliant Bwyd Sir Gâr project. We’d love to see as many of you as possible come by for food — it’s always a joy to share what we’re growing and cooking with you.
