I’m really proud to share that Cegin Hedyn CIC has received a national Community Management Award from Social Farms and Gardens.
As part of the awards, a short documentary film was made that tells the story of our allotment, our volunteers and why this work matters.
With support from Local Motion Carmarthen, we were able to bring Lauren from Tir Awel Vegboxes on board to help manage the site. That support has been instrumental in helping us grow with more structure, consistency and care.
For me, this award belongs to the people who show up every Monday, in all weathers, to build something hopeful. From three plots, a woodland area and a polytunnel to a space that supports wildlife, food production and community wellbeing, it has been a collective effort.
If you have ever volunteered, donated, shared our work or simply believed in what we are trying to do, this is yours too.
Please take a few minutes to watch the documentary. It captures the heart of what we are building better than I can in words.
Our volunteer day runs every Monday, 10am to 4pm at Five Field Allotments. No experience needed. Just come along. More info here….
